Mr. Boodrookas practices in the areas of labor and employment, litigation, and representation of nonprofits and independent schools. He represents a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals both in compliance counseling and in defense and prosecution of claims before all levels of state and federal agencies and courts. Mr. Boodrookas has extensive experience representing employers in all aspects of traditional labor law, including union organization and elections, collective bargaining, worker grievances, and unfair labor practice disputes. He has also represented numerous nonprofit organizations and independent schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Prior to the receiving his law degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1983, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from University of California, Davis, with a bachelor of arts degree and departmental citations in economics and political science.
Mr. Boodrookas was admitted to the State Bar of California (member, labor and employment law sections) in 1983. He serves as a lecturer for the Bar of California continuing education program and numerous employer and nonprofit groups. He is also a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco. Mr. Boodrookas was selected by his peers for recognition as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in 2005 and 2006.
Included among his principal cases is Laborers Health & Welfare v. Westlake Development, 53 F.3d 979 (9th Cir. 1995).
A board trustee for Marin Academy since 2002, Mr. Boodrookas is completing a two-year appointment as board president. Mr. Boodrookas was also a member of the board of trustees for Saint Mark’s School between 1999 and 2002, including two years as board president.
Mr. Boodrookas was born in Modesto, California, on June 3, 1958.
